An illness in the family reverberates from the patient outward, and the tidal wave of disruption impacts children most of all.
i-Shine West Coast is an innovative after-school program that combines homework help, recreation, dinner, mentorship, camaraderie, fun, and lots of love, for children ages 5-13. Developed by Chai Lifeline through a generous grant from the Jewish Community Foundation of Los Angeles, i-Shine West Coast envelops children and pre-teens in a structured, happy, positive environment during after-school hours when parents may not be able to be home. Each week i-Shine’s professional staff and incredible team of dedicated, enthusiastic high school and adult volunteers offer homework help, dinner, sports, arts and crafts, and a full range of recreational activities at no cost to families.
